On September 26, the third quarter of 2022 major project promotion activities were held in Sichuan Province. There was good news about the urban (suburban) railway project from Chengdu to Meishan. The project will be fully started soon. We will speed up the establishment of a multi-level rail transit system in the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin City Economic Circle, and take concrete actions to implement the major strategies of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin City Economic Circle and Chengdu-German capital integration.

Line information

The Chengdu-Meishan line project of urban (suburban) Railway is a construction project of "Multi-level Rail Transit Planning of Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle" approved by National Development and Reform Commission in December 2021. After completion, it will strengthen the radiating driving role of Chengdu as the central city, give full play to the comparative advantages of Deyang, Meishan and Ziyang, and enhance the supporting role of surrounding cities, counties and key towns. It is an important part of the construction of the spatial development pattern of the networked metropolitan area led by the polar core, connected by the axial belt and supported by multiple points. The total length of Chengdu-Meishan Railway is about 59 km, including 49 km of elevated and ground section and 10 km of underground section. The line starts at Honglian Station in Tianfu New District and ends at Meishan East Station in Meishan City. It is mainly laid along Jiazhou Road, Yizhou Avenue, Meishan section of Tianfu Avenue, Wenzhong Street and Peicheng Road.

There are 13 stations in total, including 8 elevated stations and 5 underground stations. From north to southwest, they are Honglian Station, Qinhuangsi Station, Xinglong Lake West Station, Jiancha Station, Wenchuang City Station, Shigao Station, Nantianfu Park Station, Lego Station, Heilongtan Station, Mindong New District Station, Meishan North Station, Music Square Station and Meishan East Station. In addition, there is a vehicle base in Gaobeng Village, a parking lot in Meishan North, two main substation and one control center. The vehicles are composed of four municipal Type A cars, with a maximum running speed of 160km/h.

In the early stage, Chengdu Railway Group scientifically planned the project schedule, fully implemented the requirements of epidemic prevention and control responsibility, and promoted various preliminary work efficiently and orderly, providing a solid guarantee for the Chengmei Line project to start.

The feasibility study report of Chengdu-Meishan Railway project has been approved by Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, indicating that the Chengmei Railway project will enter the stage of full construction.

In early September 22022, affected by the epidemic, the preliminary design review meeting of the urban (suburban) railway from Chengdu to Meishan line was held online. More than 10 experts invited by Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission reviewed the related documents of the preliminary design of the line and passed smoothly. The successful passing of the evaluation has laid a solid foundation for the project to start, which is of great significance for promoting the development of Chengdemei Investment in the city and helping the construction of Chengdu-Chongqing twin city economic circle. On September 20, 2022, the preliminary design and budget estimate of urban (suburban) railway from Chengdu to Meishan Line was approved by Sichuan Provincial Development and Reform Commission, marking the countdown to the start of construction of Chengmei Line project.
