After rounds of fierce competition, Yiyuan Metal has successfully won the bid for the professional metal engineering subcontract of Meituan Shanghai Technology Center. Located in the core area east of the bridge on the southern section of Yangpu Riverside in Shanghai, the project is bounded by Shuangyang South Road to the east, Guangde Road to the west, Anpu Road to the south and Yangshupu Road to the north. It covers a total land area of about 52,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 450,000 square meters and a total investment of 10.6 billion RMB. As a key component of the "nine-grid" layout of Yangpu Riverside, Meituan Technology Center, together with nearby projects of leading sci-tech enterprises including Bilibili Global Headquarters, ByteDance Shanghai Riverside Center and CECEP Building, forms a "Sci-Tech Showcase Belt", which will serve as a base for more than 3,000 innovative enterprises in the new online economy in the future.
Judging from the on-site photos sent back by colleagues, the Meituan Shanghai Technology Center project has entered a peak construction period so far, with works of all sections advancing in an orderly manner as scheduled. The project is undertaken by China Construction Third Engineering Bureau and China Construction Eighth Engineering Bureau for separate sections respectively. Among them, the two main buildings C and D undertaken by China Construction Third Engineering Bureau are making relatively rapid progress. The core tube of Tower D has been successfully capped at a height of approximately 60 to 70 meters, and the building is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
The unit assembly phase of the July project was successfully completed, an important milestone witnessed by the Vice President of the Yangtze River Delta Region and his team. Confronted with challenges including complex architectural shapes and tight construction schedules, the project team leveraged standardized management and technological innovation to achieve a groundbreaking jump in daily production capacity from 6 to 8 units to 20 units, laying a solid foundation for subsequent construction work. At present, glass curtain wall installation has commenced on some towers, marking the project’s entry into the facade enclosure stage, colloquially referred to as the "cladding phase".
It is reported that the project mainly consists of Grade 5A Class A office spaces, flagship or first-store commercial outlets, and supporting auxiliary facilities. Meituan Cube, a self-operated commercial zone covering approximately 65,000 square meters, will focus on the "first-store economy", with plans to introduce global tech experience stores, flagship popular catering brands, and 24-hour maker spaces. These facilities will form a full-scene closed loop integrating office, living and consumption with the office spaces, redefining the future modes of work and life.
