Nishito Railway was built in 1956, mainly for freight transport, the same period opened suburban passenger trains. As the main body of the project implementation, the Municipal Railway Group conducted in-depth research along the railway, determined the final renovation plan, and officially started construction on July 21, 2022.

In order to reduce the construction interval and operation approval, the West Household Railway renovation project is fully commissioned by China Railway Xi 'an Bureau Group. During the construction period, China Railway Xi 'an Bureau Group carefully planned and forcefully promoted the construction of the project, took measures to suspend freight transportation for 2 months, and optimized the skylight construction period from 8 hours a day to 24 hours a day, greatly reducing the construction period.

Three pairs of trains will run in the morning and evening peak hours with an interval of 1 hour and 10 minutes. Two pairs of trains will run in normal peak with an interval of 2 hours and 20 minutes. In the later stage, the interval and operation time will be adjusted appropriately according to passenger flow demand.

Xihu Railway adopts the "same price on the network" mode with Xi 'an Metro. The full ticket price from Epang Palace South to Huxian station is 6 yuan, and the preferential policy of ticket price is consistent with the existing lines of Xi 'an Metro. At the beginning of the service, citizens can use one-way tickets, QR code scanning, face brushing through the gate three ways, later will be switched to Changantong card swiping ride.

Xihu Railway Upgrading and renovation project is the concrete practice of Xi 'an Railway Group actively responding to the State Office "Opinions on Promoting the Accelerated Development of Urban area (suburban) railway". It is the first bus passenger train line in our province using the existing railway surplus capacity, which truly reflects the "spend little money, do great things". At the same time, it is also an innovation in the national road (railway) ground (local) cooperation mode. It makes full use of resources of both sides, revitalizes railway stock assets, and achieves quality and efficiency improvement, which has important demonstration significance for the future rail transit construction of our province.

In the next step, the city Rail Group will speed up the construction of the transfer channel between Epanggong South Station and subway Line 5, and realize the "transfer in the pay area" with the subway as soon as possible; We will continue to improve the environment and greenery along the routes. At the same time, it will continue to carry out the "public participation, open the door and accept advices" activities, collect reasonable suggestions from citizens and passengers, constantly optimize and improve the level of operation service, and strive to provide a more comfortable and convenient travel environment for everyone.
